Request For Proposals for IBC & Construction Standards Update

The Town of Mancos (Town) is soliciting proposals from qualified, professional consultants to update our Town Standards and Specifications for Design & Construction of Public Improvements and update our building codes from IBC2006 to a more current version.  Proposals are due no later than July 9, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. MST to be considered.  Proposals may be emailed to halavarez@mancoscolorado.com.

Project Goals

Contractor will work closely with the Town Administrator and Public Works Department on this project.  Goals are as follows:

  1. Update town building codes from IBC 2006 version to current version, including ancillary codes such as residential, mechanical, plumbing and other applicable codes.
  2. Suggest updated fee schedule for land use and building permit applications in conjunction with building code updates.
  3. Update town Standards and Specifications for Design & Construction of Public Improvements.

Deputy Marshal

Mancos is seeking a highly motivated individual with experience and integrity to join our team. The Mancos Marshal’s Office currently has four full time, dedicated police officers who report to the Town Marshal.

Requirements/Minimum Qualifications: The ideal candidate shall have comprehensive knowledge of modern law enforcement principles, methods and procedures, federal, state, and local laws and ordinances, emergency planning. This is a highly visible position which requires excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to positively represent Mancos when interacting with citizens, law enforcement, allied agencies, local businesses, community groups and at Board meetings. A minimum of two years of tenured law enforcement experience is required. Colorado POST Certification is required as well as a valid Colorado driver’s license. A Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration or related field is preferred. Candidate must be a United States Citizen and pass a thorough screening process which includes oral board interview, criminal and background checks, drug/alcohol screen, and psychological testing. Must live within 20 minutes of Mancos for emergency response. Mancos is an equal opportunity employer.

Salary and Benefits: Excellent benefit package includes fully covered health insurance, vision and dental, life insurance, paid holidays, vacation and sick time, merit and COLA increases, and 457k contribution from the town of 4.5%.
