Mancos is seeking a highly motivated individual with experience and integrity to join our team. The Mancos Marshal’s Office currently has four full time, dedicated police officers who report to the Town Marshal. Requirements/Minimum Qualifications: The ideal candidate shall have comprehensive knowledge of modern law enforcement principles, methods and procedures, federal, state, and local laws and ordinances, emergency planning. This is a highly visible position which requires excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to positively represent Mancos when interacting with citizens, law enforcement, allied agencies, local businesses, community groups and at Board meetings. A minimum of two years of tenured law enforcement experience is required. Colorado POST Certification is required as well as a valid Colorado driver’s license. A Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration or related field is preferred. Candidate must be a United States Citizen and pass a thorough screening process which includes oral board interview, criminal and background checks, drug/alcohol screen, and psychological testing. Parks Maintenance Technician:
The Town of Mancos is hiring a seasonal Parks Maintenance Technician who will provide grounds maintenance, park maintenance, general grounds keeping and building maintenance for municipal facilities. Work hours will include working approximately 30 hours per week. The pay range on this position is $13.00 to $15.00 per hour depending on experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Valid Colorado drivers license necessary. Care and maintenance of all park buildings and grounds. Sows grass seed or plants trees, shrubs, or flowers, according to instructions and planned design of landscaped area. Applies herbicide or mulch to designated areas. Grubs and weeds around bushes, trees, and flower beds. Trims hedges and prunes trees. Mows lawns. Picks up and burns or carts away paper and rubbish. Repairs and paints benches, tables and guardrails, and assists in repair of roads, walks, buildings, and mechanical equipment. Regular cleaning of restrooms and other structures. Organizing all equipment and supplies and keeping inventory in safe workable condition. Operation of light maintenance equipment such as tractors, mowers, trimmers and other light tools and heavy equipment as needed. Other duties as assigned.
