Watering Restrictions In Effect

May 2021

Per Ordinance 752 Series 2020, the Town of Mancos has implemented outdoor watering restrictions to reduce water usage in the area and avoid water shortages due to drought conditions.  Effective May 1 through September 30 of each year, voluntary watering restrictions include no watering between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

When priority #3 on the Mancos River is called such that the Town of Mancos is no longer in priority to pull water from Mancos River, mandatory watering restrictions go into effect that only allow outside watering between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and between the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  Additionally, properties with even number addresses will be allowed outside watering on even days only, and properties with odd number addresses will be allowed outside watering on odd days only.  These are mandatory watering restrictions enforceable by Section 13-1-330 (c) of the Town of Mancos Municipal Code. Anyone violating these restrictions will be given a warning upon observation of the first offense.  Subsequent observed offenses will result in the issuance of a citation.

These restrictions will remain in effect until the call on priority #3 of the Mancos River is lifted.
