Town of Mancos Watering Restriction Reminder

Step 1—Effective May 1 through September 30 of each year, voluntary watering restrictions include no watering between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Step 2—When priority #3 on the Mancos River is called such that the Town of Mancos is no longer in priority to pull water from Mancos River, mandatory watering restrictions go into effect that only allow outside watering between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and between the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Additionally, properties with even number addresses will be allowed outside watering on even days only, and properties with odd number addresses will be allowed outside watering on odd days only. These are mandatory watering restrictions enforceable by Section 13-1-330(c) of the Town of Mancos Municipal Code. These restrictions will remain in effect until the call on priority #3 of the Mancos River is lifted.

Step 3—If the Town of Mancos water is still called after three (3) weeks of time after a call was first placed on priority #3 on the Mancos River, the Public Works Director will have the authority to institute stricter watering restrictions, including but not limited to no outdoor watering and closure of the water dock. The Board will be required to ratify this via resolution at the next regularly scheduled Board meeting or the stricter watering restrictions of the Public Works Director will expire.
