Press Release for August 12, 2019

On 7/30/19 at 1530 hours I responded to a minor traffic accident in the Family Dollar parking lot at 560 W. Menefee in the town of Mancos, Montezuma Co., Colorado. On arrival, I found the two vehicles and both drivers parked in front of the store. Driver 1 said she was backing out of her parking space and backed into another vehicle parked behind her. Driver 1 was in a white 2005 Ford van. There was a small dent in the passenger side rear fender where she indicated it impacted the other vehicle.

Driver 2 said she was inside the store at the time of the accident. Her vehicle was a blue 2018 Mitsubishi Mirage. The Mitsubishi was a rental. There was moderate damage to the front driver’s side quarter panel. It was dented and pulled out away from the car.

Driver 1 was issued a citation for unsafe backing.
