A Message From The Town

Every person who lives in Mancos knows what a special place it is.

In Mancos, we value our freedom to be who we are. Additionally, we value each other.

One thing that makes our town unique, especially in an era of division, is that we help our neighbors. We open doors for one another. We nod and wave as others pass by. When a neighbor needs assistance, we lend a hand. And, we check in on each other.

We support and patronize our local businesses. We send our kids to school together and they play on sports teams together. If needed, our loved ones are cared for at the same local retirement home.

Mancos has survived fires, floods, droughts, and even a previous pandemic. Together, we can ride out this storm. Every person who lives in this community is important – every man, woman, child, and elder. We cannot spare any one of us. No one is expendable to this virus. That is why it is important to do what we can to keep each other safe.

There are a lot of unknowns right now, but one thing we can be certain of is that we are all in this together. As we learn more about this virus, the recommendations to keep ourselves and others safe evolve. Yet, we remain resilient, flexible, and strong – and above all – kind.

Wear your mask, wash your hands, maintain social distancing, and be kind. Our lives depend on it.

Thank you.
